What’s my focus now?
October 2, 2009 · 1 Comment
I am a planner. I looked back to my annual checklist of things to be achieved when I started living in Sydney, and I found myself completed almost every tasks.
*a way to sustain my stay in Australia—> a student visa for 2 years
*a way to support my living expenses and college fees in Australia—>two part time jobs with flexible schedules
*a room of my own (with bed,closet,table,chair & mirror)—>at my sister’s place
*a Macbook Pro—>13 inch brand new
*a vacation to New Zealand—>from Christchurch to Auckland in 8 days (September)
*a manual 35mm SLR—>Pentax ME Super with 50mm & 70-200mm lens
*a digital compact camera—>Canon Ixus 80is
*a Barista course learning how to make espresso
*an amount of savings in the bank
It seems like I’ve done well with providing myself materials. Now, it is time to work on another checklist for 2010 and I wish to stay away a bit from materialism.
This should be a tougher one.

Taking bus to work and go home.
August 31, 2009 · Leave a Comment
I kind of like the bus (almost) running red light.
I get the excitement as the bus driver speeds up and do a ruthless 90 degree turning into Flinders Street. I could almost felt like he did it because of me. Wanting to go home so badly sitting in the bus at 11.25pm after a long day and night at work. Especially on a Monday night. No it does not matter what day it is, I don’t feel like differentiating which day belongs to which anymore. They are the same to me except the ultimate Super Sunday. The day which I do not work at all. Not even getting out from my bed. Not even taking off my pyjamas. Don’t bother brushing my teeth. Waking up just to make myself an ultimate big breakfast consists of two slice of grain toast, two fried eggs, and two sausages/ peperoni salami/bacon (if I can find them in the fridge) together with a cup of coffee. And go back to sleep.
**************************************************************************
I love when the bus doing the ‘almost-running-red-light’ act 8.35am in the morning. I know he did it because of me, knowing that I need extra 10 minutes to get my breakfast before I go to work at Platinum Imaging at 8.55am (the film shop I’m currently working at).
It was the junction where only buses are allowed to turn into their own lane along Anzac Parade near Centennial Park. I love the ruthless 90 degree right turn. I even hope that the bus does not stop to pick up passengers anymore after me. Drive me straight to work. Because I don’t want to spend more than 30 minutes on the bus. Because I need 5-8 minutes to walk from the nearest bus stop to Platinum Imaging along South Dowling Street. Because I don’t want to be late. Even for 5 minutes.
After all, I love all the bus and their drivers. Because they take me to work and send me back home. Safely.

…one shot of sad.

Fair enough.
In the mood of mourning, I’m happy and I’m sad. Please keep watching us from above, keep us safe and keep us alive. Thank you even it’s too late now.

“It’s good that you exist.”
June 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment
A lady came in to have her passport photo done and ten minutes later while she’s collecting them, I was serving another customer before her and left her waiting blindly for almost 30 seconds aside.
She collected her passport and found the generic passport face of her did not look too good but I disagreed by telling her: ” It’s not too bad. Actually, it’s really good.”
I meant what I’ve said. I’ve seen way too many worse faces in their passport photo compared to hers.
“It’s good that you exist”. She said to me with an accent and leave me pondering.
Was she refering to the existence of the shop so that she could have her passport photo done?
Was she refering to the existence of mine saying nice things to her?
Was she being sarcastic as I left her waiting?

Cute toy. I’m so into getting one. Even to enrol for a film production course, too.
